Electropolishing is an electrochemical surface finishing process in which metal is removed in a controlled manner at the ionic level.
The process smooths microscopic surface irregularities, improving cleanability, reducing bacterial adhesion, and giving the surface a bright, reflective finish.
Electropolishing is used for deburring, enhancing surface gloss, and strengthening the passive layer, thereby significantly improving corrosion resistance. The process reveals a metallurgically pure and flawless surface, free from mechanical or thermal stresses.
It is suitable for most stainless, acid-resistant, and duplex steels, as well as for components of various sizes and shapes, with limitations defined only by tank and power supply capacity.
Commonly applied standards include ISO 15730 and ASTM B912-13.

The surface shows heat tint, oxide layers, and welding-related roughness, which reduce the pipe’s corrosion resistance and make it harder to clean.
The grain structure is open, causing the surface to accumulate dirt and deposits much more easily.
After electrolytic polishing, the surface becomes smooth, closed, and bright. The process removes microscopic peaks, levels the weld seam, and eliminates heat tint and impurities through a chemically controlled reaction.
The result is a technically superior and visually flawless surface.
